Te Kura a Mahaki
Te Kura a Mahaki brings together all our Mahaki Marae and whanau to learn, share matauranga, purakau, waiata, moteatea, whakapapa and much more. Led by kapa haka experts Vicki Kingi (nee Wehi), Pimia Wehi and Tapeta Wehi, the aim is to strengthen Te Aitanga a Mahaki through these wananga and kaupapa for all whanau who wish to be part of the Mahaki movement! You don't need to be a kapa haka expert whanau - naumai, haere mai!
The kaupapa delivered includes weekly moteatea and waiata zooms, regular noho marae and wananga at each of our Marae, with the ultimate aim that all our mokopuna are left with a legacy flourishing with matauranga-a-Mahaki, enabling them to be the best they can be.
Te Kura a Mahaki enables us to be individually and collectively ready and empowered to stand together at kaupapa such as Tamararo, Poukai, hui-a-motu, hui-a-iwi and other local, national and international events.
